Translation Surah Al-Kauthar (River in Paradise):

1. Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad ()) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise);

2. Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only).

3. For he who makes you angry (O Muhammad ()), - he will be cut off (from every good thing in this world and in the Hereafter).

Translation Surah Al-Kafirun:

1. Say (O Muhammad () to these Mushrikun and Kafirun): "O Al-Kafirun (disbelievers in Allah, in His Oneness, in His Angels, in His Books, in His Messengers, in the Day of Resurrection, and in Al-Qadar, etc.)!

2. "I worship not that which you worship,

3. "Nor will you worship that which I worship.

4. "And I shall not worship that which you are worshipping.

5. "Nor will you worship that which I worship.

Translation Surah Al-Asr (The Time):

1. By Al-'Asr (the time).

2. Verily! Man is in loss,

3. Except those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth (i.e. order one another to perform all kinds of good deeds (Al-Ma'ruf)which Allah has ordained, and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds (Al-Munkar)which Allah has forbidden), and recommend one another to patience (for the sufferings, harms, and injuries which one may encounter in Allah's Cause during preaching His religion of Islamic Monotheism or Jihad, etc.).

Translation Surah An-Nasr (The Help):

1. When comes the Help of Allah (to you, O Muhammad () against your enemies) and the conquest (of Makkah),

2. And you see that the people enter Allah's religion (Islam) in crowds,

3. So glorify the Praises of your Lord, and ask for His Forgiveness. Verily, He is the One Who accepts the repentance and forgive.

It really struck me when my parent shared the tafsir of this surah that they learned from a class, just after Zahraa finised reciting this surah to them..

So people, when comes the help and victory by ALLAH, PRAISE ALLAH and ISTIGHFAR, ASK FORGIVENESS from ALLAH..

for we always end up the victory with a CELEBRATION..

Renung wasiat Hassan al-Banna untuk mula tahun baru

SEMOGA kehadiran tahun baru 2012 ini menjanjikan sesuatu yang lebih baik untuk kita. Pengalaman sepanjang 2011 kita simpan sebagai kenangan yang tidak mungkin dapat kita ulangi. Orang cakap ‘sejarah mungkin berulang’ tapi adakah ia sama seperti pertama kali terjadi? Tak, kan? Kenangan manis, kita kenang sampai bila-bila. Kenangan pahit, kegagalan yang berlaku sepanjang 2011 kita anggap saja sebagai langkah yang perlu dilalui untuk kehidupan yang lebih berjaya. Sebagai muhasabah dalam memulakan langkah 2012, penulis ingin mengajak kita merenung wasiat dan nasihat Hassan al-Banna yang sangat relevan dan hidup kata-katanya walaupun beliau sudah tiada lagi antaranya:

Segeralah tunaikan solat pada awal waktu iaitu kala mendengar azan. Usahakanlah semampu terdaya. Ini membuktikan kesungguhan anda. Di situ ada sumber kejayaan, pertolongan dan taufiq. Perhatikanlah banyak perintah ayat al-Quran di mulakan dengan menyebut solat pada awalnya. Perhatikanlah Tuhan mensyariatkan solat di medan perang walaupun pada saat genting dan cemas.

Bacalah al-Quran dan cuba memerhati mesejnya. Selalu berzikir dan cari ilmu walaupun sedikit. Kurangkan mengisi masa yang tidak bertujuan. Sesungguhnya al-Quran adalah sumber asli lautan ilmu. Sumber hidayah kepada anda dan saya. Bacalah al-Quran, kelak ia memberi syafaat. Sentiasalah membaca, menghafal dan cuba hayati mesej arahannya. Selalu berzikir, berzikir dan terus berzikir! Di sini ada ketenteraman, kedamaian dan keselamatan. Jadilah hamba yang sejahtera.

Dorong diri untuk menguasai bahasa al-Quran. Mulakan dulu walaupun sepatah perkataan. Sebenarnya anda sudah lama bermula iaitu sejak anda solat setiap hari. Sebut dulu walaupun tidak faham. Antara malapetaka pertama menimpa umat kita ialah kecuaian menguasai bahasa agamanya. Ayuh! Apa tunggu lagi bukalah ruang walaupun seminit!

Usahlah bertarung idea tanpa adabnya. Berdebatlah jika kiranya berbuahkan kebaikan. Awasilah pertengkaran kerana di sana ada unsur lain membisikkan, syaitan namanya!

Senyumlah selalu tapi bersederhanalah dalam ketawa! Rasulullah s.a.w adalah yang paling banyak senyum. Baginda ketawa kena pada tempatnya. Bagaimanapun berpada-pada saja wahai kawan, Plato juga berharap supaya pementasan hiburan yang tidak bermutu, terlalu banyak ketawa dan lawak bodoh hanya disaksikan golongan abdi dan orang upahan asing.

Seriuslah selalu dan berguraulah berpatutan. Tanpa serius, hilanglah kesungguhan. Tanpa bergurau, tawarlah kehidupan. Kata seorang penyair: Berikan kerehatan pada jiwamu. Yang sibuk dengan berfikir, ubati dengan bergurau. Tapi, kalau mengubatinya dengan bergurau mestilah dalam batas seperti kau masukkan garam ke dalam gulai.

Usahlah mengumpat dan usahlah merendah-rendahkan pertubuhan lain. Bercakaplah jika ada unsur kebajikan. Ayuh! Hindarilah mengumpat! Tidak sekali mencabuli jemaah lain! Perkatakanlah kebaikan demi kebajikan bersama. Sukakah anda makan daging? Pasti anda suka! Tapi sukakah anda makan daging kawan anda yang sudah mati? Sekali-kali tidak! Begitulah dosa orang yang mengumpat. Bertaubatlah jika anda mengumpat tapi mesti minta ampun terhadap orang umpatanmu. Boleh mengumpat apabila ada tujuan syarie iaitu untuk menuntut keadilan apabila dizalimi, untuk menghapuskan kemungkaran atau kerana memberi amaran kepada Muslim lain mengenai kejahatan dan mengisytiharkan kefasikan dan kejahatan.

Luaskanlah interaksimu dengan umat manusia. Sekali pun mereka tidak diminta berbuat demikian. Salam kasih sayang adalah untuk semua. Salam kemesraan adalah untuk sejagat. Hulurkanlah, hulurkanlah salam perkenalan. Lihatlah pensyariatan ibadah haji. Pelbagai bangsa, lapisan dan darjat datang berkunjung. Sama-sama menjunjung obor suci. Tidak mengenali tapi tak sepi.

Maksimumkan faedah waktu anda dan tolonglah orang lain supaya manfaatkan masa. Hadkanlah masa penunaiannya. Biasakan hidup berjadual di hadapan. Bijaksanakanlah menggunakan waktu anda. Bersegeralah, kerana dalam sabda Nabi yang bermaksud: “Bertindak segeralah melakukan amal...” (Diulang 7 kali..). Sayangilah masa saudaramu, hormatilah waktu mereka, usahlah berbicara meleret-leret tanpa haluan dan noktahnya.

Intention of Hajj

The significance of Hajj as a pillar of Islam is quite evident from the reward this act of worship brings to its performer. As has been reported from the Messenger of Allah, the person performing the Hajj is forgiven and purified as if he/she is a newborn baby. Although its importance and formalities are generally known and talked about, its essence, spirit, and impact on a performer's behavior and personality are not generally understood or remembered.

The point we should ponder over is why Allah and His Messenger granted Hajj so much importance. What is the most significant aspect of this worship? Is it performance of certain rites and rituals, the special dress worn, and visitation of certain places that make it the most rewarding act of worship? Or, like other acts or worship in Islam, is it the changes that Hajj makes in the performer's personality, attitude, and outlook that are the essence of Hajj?

The other point to reflect upon is what is so special about the Hajj that it is expected to produce some significant changes in the personality, attitude, and outlook of a person? Is there anything magical in the rites and rituals of the Hajj that produces the changes, or is it the constant conscious effort on the part of the performer to inculcate in himself/herself the spirit of those rites and rituals which brings about the desired changes? The reality is that unless a person performs every step of the Hajj immersed in and imbued with the spirit that each action represents, he/she will not fully realize the promised benefits of Hajj.

This process of consciously soaking in the spirit of Hajj starts with the intention. As soon as you make an intention to perform Hajj, you should start reflecting on the lifestyle of Ibrahim, Isma'il, and Hajar. Allah has presented them as a model Muslim family. Hajj is, in fact, an intensive training in full, holistic, wholehearted, willing, and enthusiastic obedience and submission to Allah. This training is provided by making the believer simulate acts of love, dedication, and obedience performed by Ibrahim and his family. Hajj, in reality, is walking in the footsteps of that family, simulating the extraordinary acts of devotion they performed for the love of Allah. This provides a Muslim proper perspective as to how devoted and submissive to Allah a Muslim should be. So as soon as you decide to perform Hajj, you should start reviewing your lifestyle vis-a-vis the life style of Ibrahim and his family and see if you submit to Allah without reservation or hesitation as they did. Are you willing to sacrifice your most precious and cherished possessions, habits, preferences, and desires for the sake of Allah as Ibrahim did? Can you obey Allah without asking questions or without understanding why Allah wants us to do certain things? Can you jump into dangers and difficulties willingly and enthusiastically for the sake of Islam as Ibrahim did? Is pleasure of Allah and supremacy of Islam the most important goals in your life? Do the commands of Allah, the needs of the Ummah, and the call of Islam take precedence in your life over all your interests, needs, and aspirations? If the answer to any of these questions is not a resounding yes, you should start identifying where you need improvement and how you are going to get there.

When you start for Hajj from your home, think of it as the beginning of a transformation process and not just a trip to sacred places. Start with a sincere repentance with a firm intention to change yourself to the desired level of commitment to Islam. Form specific mental images about how your attitude, personality, and outlook will be changing from your current state towards the Ibrahimic style and level as you proceed from home towards Al-Haram (Makkah). As you move through various stages in your journey, see your paradigm shifting with each step. When you remove your clothes and take a shower to put ihram on, visualize ridding yourself of all the old habits and behavior patterns that are not the best from the Islamic point of view and cleansing yourself from intentions and attitudes that are un-Islamic in nature and practice. When you put your ihram on, think of a new birth and a new beginning, start of a new life more like that of Ibrahim and Isma'il.

While performing each rite of Hajj, keep in your mind the spirit of the rite and the act of Ibrahim that it simulates and feel the transformation of your attitude and personality accordingly. For example, when you arrive in Makkah and cool your eyes with the sight of the Holy Ka'bah and pray to Allah to increase its status and its sanctity, remember the purpose for which it was built. Remind yourself of how it was going to be the center of the Islamic movement to bring the whole of humanity to the worship of Allah. Dedicate yourself to that cause as Ibrahim and his family did.

When performing Tawaf (circumambulation), feel the passionate, ardent love of Allah making you go round in humility in front of His greatness, also thinking at the same time that all your life in this world will be Allah-centered, revolving around Him, His love and His pleasure. When running between Safa and Marwah, see yourself running and striving throughout your life for the religion of Allah to establish it as the supreme, dominant way of life, while hoping that Allah accepts your efforts and rewards you with the success of the Islamic mission in this world and with His pleasure in the Hereafter, while at the same time being concerned that you may not be doing enough to achieve your goals or to earn Allah's pleasure and mercy.

Standing in Arafat, you should feel the majestic presence of Allah in Whose audience you are standing as a humble slave. Preserve that feeling of Allah's presence in your consciousness throughout your remaining life. Your sacrifice should indicate your readiness, willingness, and enthusiasm to sacrifice your most cherished possessions for the sake of Allah. And throwing pebbles (rami) at Jamarat (satan's pillar of temptation) should signify that whatever little means you have, you are going to devote all you have in opposing and rejecting all the un-Islamic theories and sins and secular lifestyle that the devils of the world try to preach among Muslims or impose on them.

It is this kind of Hajj that makes you pure and sin-free as if you are a newborn baby. If Hajj is not performed with that kind of spirit, its intended benefits will not be realized. An example from our predecessors will illustrate this point.

A person who had just come back from Hajj came to visit Al-Junaid Al-Baghdaadi. After Junaid asked him where he was coming from, the following dialogue occurred between them:

Hajji : I have just come back from Hajj to the House of Allah.

Al-Junaid: Have you been to Hajj?

Hajji : Yes, I have just performed it.

Al-Junaid: When you proceeded from your home with the intention of Hajj, did you repent from all your sins?

Hajji: I did not think about it.

Al-Junaid: In that case, you did not even depart for Hajj. What about your journey, rest breaks, and stopovers? When covering distances, did you move mentally and spiritually closer to Allah, and at stopovers, did you feel dwelling in His remembrance?

Hajji: It did not occur to me.

Al-Junaid: You have not, then, really traveled to the House of Allah. How about putting on the ihram and replacing your usual clothes? When doing that act, did you abandon your undesirable habits and attitudes that had been part of your daily routines?

Hajji: It did not cross my mind.

Al-Junaid: Alas! You did not even put on ihram. But did you experience the presence of Allah while you were standing in 'Arafat?

Hajji: What do you mean?

Al-Junaid: When you were praying to Allah in 'Arafat, did you feel as if He was right in front of you and you are watching Him?

Hajji: No, that was not how I felt.

Al-Junaid: That means you did not even reach 'Arafat. I hope you left your worldly desires and aspirations in Muzdalifah.

Hajji: I did not think about it.

Al-Junaid: So, you have not even been to Muzdalifah. How was your Tawaf? Did you feel overwhelmed by an ardent attraction towards the perfect majesty of Allah Most High during Tawaf?

Hajji: I do not think so.

Al-Junaid: It is, then, as if you have not even performed Tawaf. Perhaps you understood the spirit, wisdom, and objective of running between Mounts Safa and Marwah.

Hajji: Not really.

Al-Junaid: In other words, you have not performed Sa'i (running between Safa and Marwah). Tell me about your sacrificial rites. While slaughtering the animal, did you sacrifice for the love of Allah Most High your own lusts and desires?

Hajji: That did not come to my mind.

Al-Junaid: In that case, you have not even offered sacrifice. What about throwing stones at the pillars? When performing that ritual, did you cast away your bad company, evil friends, and dirty plans?

Hajji: This did not happen either.

Al-Junaid: Unfortunately, you have not performed Rami (stoning rites) either. You must go back next year and re-perform the Hajj with the sentiments, spirit, and attitude mentioned above so that it can be a simulation of Ibrahim's experiences, described by the Qur'an as one who [who fulfilled his engagements]

INSAF DALAM MENILAI SETIAP INSAN

Dalam kehidupan ini kita akan bertemu dengan pelbagai ragam manusia. Setiap individu membawa pelbagai perwatakan. Kadang-kadang kita keliru dalam membuat penilaian. Keliru dalam menentu watak baik dan buruk. Ini disebabkan pada diri seseorang itu boleh terkumpul kedua unsur tersebut; unsur baik dan unsur buruk.

Jika kita melihat kepada seseorang insan pada unsur baik semata, tentu kita akan menilainya sebagai insan yang baik. Jika kita pula melihat di sudut yang buruk semata, maka pasti kita akan menilai sebagai insan yang buruk. Namun, jika kita melihat kedua unsur itu secara seimbang dan adil, pasti kita akan dapat membuat kesimpulan yang betul.

Insan apabila berbalah, atau bertelingkah mereka sering menonjolkan unsur buruk mengenai musuh mereka. Enggan mereka menyebut kebaikan yang ada, sekalipun itu terang dan jelas. Kita boleh lihat akhlak orang-orang politik hari ini apabila mereka bertelingkah. Enggan mengiktiraf sumbangan pihak lain hanya kerana perbezaan politik yang ada.
Demikian juga dalam kehidupan, ramai yang enggan mengiktiraf kebaikan pihak yang dibenci sekalipun nyata kebaikannya. Ini adalah sifat yang tidak munsif atau kita sebut tidak insaf. Perkataan insaf di sini bukan seperti yang kita faham iaitu menyesal. Sebaliknya bermaksud sesuatu yang berada di tengah; tidak melampau dan tidak terkurang. Inilah arahan Allah kepada kita.
Dalam urusan jual beli, kita diharamkan mengurangkan hak orang lain, apatah lagi dalam urusan nilai dan harga diri orang lain yang lebih bermakna dari timbangan makanan dan barang, lebih utamalah untuk kita memastikan hak orang lain tidak dikurangkan. Firman Allah: (maksudnya):

“Jangan kamu kurangkan manusia apa yang menjadi hak-haknya (Surah Hud: 85).

Timbangan Amalan

Allah Tuhan Yang Maha Adil tidak menetap bahawa hanya orang tidak berdosa sahaja yang masuk syurga. Tidak juga menyatakan bahawa setiap yang ada dosa akan memasuki neraka. Sebaliknya al-Quran menyatakan bahawa seseorang ditimbang amalan baik dan buruknya. Maka, sesiapa yang amalan baiknya melebihi amalan buruknya, maka dia berjaya. Begitulah sebaliknya; sesiapa yang amalan buruknya melebihi amalan baiknya, maka tempatnya neraka. Firman Allah (maksudnya):

“adapun orang yang berat timbangannya (amalan baik), maka dia berada dalam kehidupan yang senang lenang. Sesiapa yang ringan timbangannya (amalan baik), maka tempat kembalinya ialah “Haawiyah”, Dan apa jalan engkau dapat mengetahui, apa dia “Haawiyah” itu? (Haawiyah itu ialah): api yang panas membakar” (Surah al-Qariah 6-11).

Setelah Allah menetapkan demikian, bagaimana mungkinkah kita ingin memutus hanya insan yang tidak berdosa sahaja yang layak untuk diiktiraf sebagai insan yang baik?! Sebaliknya, insan yang baik itu ialah seseorang yang amalan baiknya melebihi amalan buruknya.

Semua Berdosa

Sabda Nabi s.a.w:

“Semua anak Adam itu melakukan kesalahan. Sebaik-baik pelaku kesalahan itu ialah mereka yang bertaubat” (Riwayat Ahmad, al-Tirmizi dan Ibn Majah/ dihasankan oleh al-Albani).

Justeru, setiap kita tidak sunyi dari kesalahan. Tiada siapa pun dalam kalangan kita yang boleh mendakwa bahawa dirinya suci dari dosa dan noda. Cuma beza antara orang baik dan yang buruk, seorang baik itu memohon keampunan dari Allah dan berusaha membaiki diri. Sementara orang yang buruk keras kepala dengan dosanya, tidak kesal dan tidak memohon keampunan.
Menyedari hakikat ini, maka jangan kita hina manusia disebabkan sesuatu dosa, tetapi lihat bagaimana sikap dirinya terhadap dosa tersebut. Allah tidak pernah menjadikan orang yang berdosa kecewa, sebaliknya sentiasa membuka pintu untuk mereka kembali kepadaNya. Firman Allah: (maksudnya):

“Katakanlah: “Wahai hamba-hambaKu yang telah melampaui batas terhadap diri mereka sendiri (dengan perbuatan dosa), janganlah kamu berputus asa dari rahmat Allah, kerana sesungguhnya Allah mengampunkan segala dosa; sesungguhnya Dialah jua Yang Maha Pengampun, lagi Maha Mengasihani.” (Surah al-Zumar: 53).

Jahat Tak Menafikan Baik

Dalam diri insani boleh terkumpul dua unsur yang berlainan pada satu masa yang sama; kebaikan juga kejahatan. Apabila kita berbicara soal kejahatannya, janganlah sampai kita lupa unsur kebaikan yang ada sehingga kita memadamkan baiknya dan menghukumnya melebihi kadar yang patut. Hal ini pernah Rasulullah s.a.w bantah terhadap perkataan sesetengah sahabat yang melaknat seorang peminum arak dalam kalangan mereka. Dalam hadis al-Imam al-Bukhari, Rasulullah s.a.w mengajar kita hakikat ini.

“Seorang lelaki bernama ‘Abdullah, digelar ‘himar’ (kaldai). Dia pernah menyebabkan Rasulullah s.a.w ketawa. Juga pernah Nabi s.a.w. menyebatnya (menjatuhkan hukuman) disebabkan kesalahan meminum arak. Pada suatu hari dia ditangkap lagi (disebabkan kesalahan meminum arak), maka baginda pun menghukum lalu dia disebat. Seorang lelaki berkata: “Ya Allah! Laknatilah dia, alangkah kerap dia ditangkap”. Lantas Nabi s.a.w pun bersabda: “Jangan kamu semua melaknatinya! Demi Allah apa yang aku tahu dia mencintai Allah dan RasulNya”. (Riwayat al-Bukhari).

Walaupun dia minum arak, itu satu dosa yang besar, namun dalam masa yang sama Rasulullah s.a.w tidak menafikan unsur cintakan Allah dan Rasul yang wujud dalam diri. Bahkan Nabi s.a.w mempertahankan kelebihannya itu. Kita lebih wajar demikian. Jangan kerana melihat sesuatu dosa, sekalipun besar, kita menafikan unsur kebaikan lain yang ada pada diri seseorang.

Diri Sendiri

Jika setiap kita merenung kepada dirinya sendiri secara insaf, dia akan tahu dia juga banyak kesalahan dan dosa. Jika tidak dosa zahir, dosa batin; niat dan jiwa yang buruk seperti hasad, buruk sangka, takabur, riyak dan lain-lain. Jika tidak dosa pada perbuatan, dosa pada perkataan seperti mengumpat, memfitnah, menuduh, menjadi ‘batu-api’ dan pelbagai lagi.

Dosa-dosa batin dan perkataan ini kadang kala jauh lebih besar di sisi Allah daripada dosa-dosa peribadi seperti minum arak dan zina. Namun kita sering memandang ringan sedang ia besar. Firman Allah (maksudnya):

“ketika kamu menerima berita dusta itu dengan lidah kamu, dan memperkatakan dengan mulut kamu sesuatu yang kamu tidak mempunyai pengetahuan mengenainya; dan kamu pula menyangka ianya perkara kecil, pada hal di sisi Allah adalah perkara yang besar dosanya”. (Surah an-Nur: 15).

Setiap kita juga ada rahsia keaiban yang tersendiri. Hanya kerana rahmat Allah masih tertutup keaiban itu. Kita berjalan dengan bangga di hadapan khalayak ramai serta merasakan diri suci. Sebenarnya, dalam banyak hal kita tidak suci, cumanya dosa kita tidak didedahkan kepada manusia. Kata al-Imam Ahmad dengan linangan airmata ketika dia dimuliakan: “Kami ini kesian. Jika tidak kerana tutupan Allah, nescaya akan terdedah aib kami”. Demikian tawaduknya imam yang agung itu.

Namun kita, lantaran merasakan diri suci, kita menghukum dan menilai dosa peribadi orang lain berlebihan sehingga seakan kita sunyi dari kesalahan. Dengan satu dosa sahaja, kita dedah dan hina seseorang dengan apa yang Allah sendiri tidak hina sedemikian rupa. Nabi s.a.w memberikan amaran:

“..jangan kamu mencari-cari keaiban orang muslim kerana sesiapa yang mencari keaiban orang muslim Allah akan mendapatkan keaibannya. Sesiapa yang Allah dapat keaibannya, maka didedahkan sekalipun dalam rumahnya”. (Riwayat Ahmad dan Abu Daud/ disahihkan al-Albani)

Seimbang

Islam menyuruh kita adil dalam semua perkara termasuk dalam membuat penilaian terhadap seseorang. Adil terhadap setiap pihak walaupun pihak kita benci dan bermusuhan. Allah menyebut (maksudnya):

“Wahai orang-orang yang beriman, hendaklah kamu semua sentiasa menjadi orang-orang yang menegakkan keadilan kerana Allah, lagi menerangkan kebenaran; dan jangan sekali-kali kebencian kamu terhadap sesuatu kaum itu mendorong kamu kepada tidak melakukan keadilan. Hendaklah kamu berlaku adil (kepada sesiapa jua) kerana sikap adil itu lebih hampir kepada taqwa”. (Surah al-Maidah: 8).

Al-Imam Muhibb al-Din al-Khatib menyebut:

“Kita kaum muslimin tidak beriktikad kemaksuman seseorang selepas Rasulullah s.a.w. Sesiapa sahaja yang mendakwa kemaksuman seseorang selepas Rasulullah s.a.w maka dia berdusta. Insan itu tetap insan. Terbit darinya apa yang terbit dari insan. Maka, ada padanya kebenaran dan kebaikan. Ada juga padanya kebatilan dan kejahatan. Boleh jadi kebenaran dan kebaikan pada insan tertentu dalam lingkungan yang luas, maka dia dinilai dalam kalangan ahli kebenaran dan kebaikan. Ini tidak menghalang untuk terjadi kepadanya beberapa kesilapan. Boleh jadi kebatilan dan kejahatan pada insan yang lain dalam lingkungan yang luas, maka dia dinilai dalam kalangan ahli kebatilan dan kejahatan. Ini tidak menghalang untuk tercetus dari beberapa cetusan kebaikan pada waktu-waktu tertentu.

Wajib kepada sesiapa yang berbicara mengenai ahli kebenaran dan kebaikan, jika dia tahu mereka ada beberapa kesilapan, janganlah dia rosakkan kebenaran dan kebaikan mereka yang banyak itu. Janganlah dipadamkan segala kebenaran dan kebaikan disebabkan kesalahan-kesalahan tersebut.

Wajib pula kepada sesiapa yang berbicara mengenai ahli kebatilan dan kejahatan, jika dia tahu ada beberapa cetusan kebaikan mereka, janganlah dia kelirukan orang ramai bahawa mereka itu dalam kalangan golongan yang soleh hanya kerana amalan kebaikan mereka yang jarang dan ganjil itu”. (Tahqiq al-‘Awasim min al-Qawasim, m/s 47. Beirut: Dar al-Jail).

THE AIMS, MY AIMS and mayb YOUR AIMS?

Among the important aims which are going to be my aims for my Ramadhan to be learnt, insha ALLAH..

It does inspire me, may it inspires all of you too..

1. To gain Taqwa

"O you who believe! fasting is prescribed for you, as it was prescribed upon those before you in order that you may attain taqwa." [Surah al-Baqarah 2:183].

What is Taqwa?
- "Taqwa is to act in obedience to Allah, upon a light (i.e. iman, faith) from Allah, hoping in the Mercy of Allah. And taqwa is leaving acts of disobedience to Allah, upon a light from Allah, due to the fear of Allah."

2. To seek nearness to ALLAH

The Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam said:
"Whosoever reaches the month of Ramadhan and does not have his sins forgiven, and so enters the Fire, then may Allah distance him.

So drawing closer to Allah - the Mort Perfect - in this blessed month, can be achieved by fulfilling one's obligatory duties; and also reciting the Qur'an and reflecting upon its meanings, increasing in kindness and in giving charity, in making du'a (supplication) to Allah, attending the tarawih Prayer, seeking out Laylatul-Qadr (the Night of Power and Pre-Decree), a night which is better than a thousand months, attending gatherings of knowledge, and striving in there actions that will cause the heart to draw closer to its Lord and to gain His forgiveness. Our level of striving in this blessed month should be greater than our striving to worship Allah in any other month, due to the excellence and rewards that Allah has placed in it. Likewise from the great means of seeking nearness to Allah in this month is making i'tikaf (seclusion in the mosque in order to worship Allah) - for whoever is able.

3. To acquire patience

The Prophet sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam said:
"The month of Patience, and the three days of every month, are times for fasting."

Ibn 'Abdul-Barr (d.464H)- rahimahullah - said:
"What is meant by the month of Patience is the month of Ramadhan ... So fasting is called patience because it restrains the soul from eating, drinking, conjugal relations and sexual desires."

So fasting is a means of learning self restraint and patience. With patience we are able to strengthen our resolve to worship Allah alone, with sincerity, and also cope with life's ups and downs.

Jodoh di Tangan ALLAH

Pada suatu hari, Saya bertanya kepada emak, "Mana satu pilihan hati, orang yang sayangkan kita atau yang kita sayang? "Mak jawab, "Dua-dua bukan.."Saya tercengang.. Mak mengukir senyuman.

"Pilihan hati mak adalah orang yang sayangkan kita kerana Allah.." Saya menarik nafas dalam-dalam.

"Macam mana nak tau orang tu sayang kita kerana apa?" Mak diam sekejap berfikir dan kemudian tersenyum.

Rasanya mak dapat menduga apa yang sedang bermain dalam hati anak perempuannya. Mana mungkin saya mampu menyorokkan rahsia hati dari mak sedangkan sekilas saya pun mak mampu membacanya."Yang paling tahu hanya Allah.." mak merenung dalam-dalam wajah anaknya.

"Kerana hanya Allah mampu membaca hati hambaNya.. " Mak menyusun ayat-ayatnya. "Dan keikhlasan kerana Allah itu akan terserlah keberkatannya tanpa perlu sengaja ditonjolkan oleh seseorang tu.."

Saya memintas, "Tak faham.." Mak menyambung "Cinta di dalam jalan Allah.. Bertemu kerana sama-sama mencari redha Allah.."

Mak menyambung lagi, "Begini, setiap insan yang bergelar manusia telah Allah ciptakan berpasang-pasangan. Rasa ingin dikasihi antara seorang suami dan isteri suatu fitrah.Automatik boleh ada daya tarikan magnet tu.."

Wajah saya merah, sedikit cemas jika mak dapat mengesan gelora jiwa muda ini.. Mak menyambung "Setiap manusia telah Allah tetapkan rezeki, jodoh dan maut sejak azali lagi..

Persoalannya ialah.. Siapakah jodohnya itu?" mak berhenti seketika. Saya tunduk malu, cuba menyorokkan rasa panas di pipi. Emak buat-buat tidak nampak.

Secret Admirer

"Kakak, mak dulu masa remaja ada secret admirer.. Rajin betul dia hantar surat .. Masa tu mak dah tahu yang bercinta sebelum kahwin ni tak halal.. Dan masa tu mak tekad tak mahu layan. Mak sedar mak anak yatim, anak orang miskin, adik beradik ramai.. Mak nak belajar sungguh-sungguh.. Lama budak tu tunggu mak.. Akhirnya mak bagi kata putus, mak hanya akan membalas cinta dia jika dia sah suami mak..

Dan dia memang bukan jodoh mak, maka tak pernah dia menerima balasan cinta tu." Mak merenung jauh. Saya merapatkan badan kepada emak, semakin berminat dengan kisah lama mak..

"Mak memang tak ada perasaan langsung pada dia ke?" Saya menyoal sambil memandang tajam wajah mak. Emak ketawa kecil. "Walaupun mungkin ada, mak tak pernah bagi peluang pada diri mak untuk mengisytiharkan perasaan tu.. Mak takut pada Allah."

"Mak bukan seperti rakan sebaya mak yang lain.. Mak, seperti kakak.." mak memandang saya sambil memegang pipi dan dagu saya. Kemudian tangannya mengusap rambut di kepala saya.

"Mak anak ustaz ustazah.. Tapi zaman tu ustaz ustazah nya masih berkebaya pendek dan ketat. Tok wan mak kiyai. Mungkin berkat doa keturunan sebelum ni yang soleh-soleh, hati mak tertarik sangat pada agama walaupun tiada sesiapa yang mendorong.. Bila di sekolah, mak pelajar pertama yang bertudung.. Mak membawa imej agama. Kawan-kawan dan cikgu-cikgu panggil mak dengan gelaran mak Aji.. Sebab zaman tu hujung 70an dan awal 80an tak ramai lagi yang bertudung betul menutup auratnya.. Zaman tudung nipis dan nampak jambul. Kemudian kawan-kawan mak sikit-sikit ikut bertudung.

Akhirnya kami semua dipanggil di perhimpunan. Kami dimarah guru besar kerana bertudung sedangkan ustazah kami bertudung tapi nampak jambulnya.." Emak melemparkan pandangan ke lantai. "Selepas tu ustazah jumpa kami secara persendirian. Ustazah kata dia tak mampu nak pakai seperti kami. Dia suruh kami teruskan.." sambung emak.

Ada getar di hujung suara emak. Kisah silam perjuangan emak di sekolah dahulu sikit-sikit emak ceritakan pada saya. Itulah juga salah satu inspirasi kepada saya untuk bangkit semula setiap kali terjatuh ketika berjuang di sekolah dulu.

"Mungkin kerana personaliti mak, mak menjadi tempat rujukan kawan-kawan mak.. Jadi, bila mak nak ambil sesuatu tindakan, mak kena fikir betul-betul sama da tindakan mak tu akan menyebabkan Allah marah atau tidak. Mak ayah berdosa tak? Dan maruah pembawa agama terjejas tak?

Kalau mak membalas cinta si lelaki tadi, bermakna mak sedang menconteng arang di muka-muka pembawa-pembawa agama. Orang akan pandang serong terhadap orang yang bertudung sedangkan kesilapan tu hanya seorang dua yang buat. Besar fitnah akan timbul apabila orang-orang agama mengambil ringan batas syariat duhai anak.." Mak menelan air liurnya. Saya diam.

Fikiran saya sedang cuba memahami maksud mak saya.

Adakah ia suatu diskriminasi?

"Kakak.. Jatuh cinta perkara biasa. Apabila kita jatuh cinta pada seseorang, itu tandanya ada sesuatu keistimewaan pada seseorang tu. Apatah lagi orang yang kita jatuh cinta tu di atas jalan dakwah ni..

Tetapi kita kena ingat..

Kita tak akan dikahwinkan dengan seseorang atas sebab jatuh cinta atau saling cinta mencintai.. Bercouple mungkin..

Tetapi bukan berkahwin...

Kerana kita berkahwin dengan jodoh kita, jodoh yang Allah dah tetapkan sejak azali..

Dan tak mustahil orang yang kita paling benci itulah jodoh kita yang kita akan dikahwinkan dengannya.."

Tiba-tiba air mata saya mengalir. Argh! Ego saya kalah bila mendengar hujah emak. Emak meneruskan,

"Allah itu Maha Adil.. Dia tak pernah menzalimi hambaNya..

Sesungguh nya, yang selalu menzalimi hambaNya ialah diri hamba tu sendiri.. Sebabnya hamba tu degil. Dia mahukan yang bukan haknya, yang bukan milik dia.

Mencintai seseorang tidak semestinya memilikinya.

Dalam Islam, kita dah diajar untuk saling mencintai antara satu sama lain seperti diri sendiri.. Jadi apabila kita mencintai saudara perempuan, kita bebas peluk dia. Tetapi bila dengan lelaki, kita ada batas-batasnya.

Orang kafir kata batas-batas ini suatu diskriminasi, tetapi sebenarnya batas-batas syariat itulah yang memelihara kehormatan seorang lelaki dan seorang perempuan.

Cuba kakak renungkan, kita mengenali seorang insan yang amat baik, sempurna agamanya dan rajin. Lalu kita jatuh hati padanya. Ditakdirkan jodohnya dengan insan lain, kita pula dengan yang lain..

Tetapi itu tidak bermakna ukhwah antara kita dan dia terputus.. Kita dan dia sama-sama mencari redha Allah.. Kita dan dia masih boleh sama-sama bekerjasama untuk mencari redha Allah..

Perbezaannya, dia halal untuk isterinya sedangkan untuk kita, dia tetap lelaki ajnabi seperti yang awalnya." Emak berhenti seketika.. Bukan luar biasa...

Tentu kering tekak emak menerangkan kepada saya persoalan hati ini.

"Kakak..

Jadi di sini mak nak kakak faham, jatuh cinta bukan perkara luar biasa.. Dan berkahwin pun bukan suatu jaminan untuk tak jatuh cinta pada lelaki lain.. Kerana itulah ramai isteri yang curang, suami yang curang..

Ada orang tukar pasangan macam tukar baju. Apa yang penting ialah kita kena perjelaskan pada diri kita supaya setiap kali kita jatuh cinta, jatuh cinta itu kerana kita jatuh cinta kepada Pencipta dia.

Kita bagi tau pada diri kita berulang kali yang kita mencintai Allah, kerana itu kita mencintai si dia. Letakkan Allah sebagai sempadan hati kita, segala perkara yang kita cintai dan sayangi termasuk mak abah adalah kerana mencintai Allah..

Dan apabila kita membenci seseorang atau sesuatu, beri tahu pada diri sendiri berulangkali yang kita benci sekian-sekian hal kerana Allah semata-mata.

"Kakak.. Hati kita ni walaupun dalam dada kita sendiri, ia tetap bukan milik kita.

Kita tak mampu untuk mengawalnya. . Hanya Allah yang boleh memegangnya. . Sebab tu kita kena dekatkan diri dengan Allah.. Sebab kita nak dia pegang kukuh-kukuh hati kita. Bila Dia pelihara dan masuk dalam hati kita, itulah nikmat lazatnnya bercinta.

Masa tu biarpun satu dunia menyakiti kita, kita tak rasa sakit sebab kita asyik dengan nikmat bercinta dengan Allah.. Bercinta dengan Allah sangat berbeza dari bercinta dengan manusia. Kerana tentulah pegalaman bercinta dengan lelaki kaya,rupawan, sempurna dan bijaksana tak sama rasanya bercinta dengan lelaki miskin, hodoh, cacat dan dungu..

Betapa nikmatnya cinta Allah, hanya mereka yang pernah merasai sahaja yang mampu mengerti. "

Redha

"Kakak..

Walau siapapun jodoh yang Allah hantarkan untuk kakak, terimalah dengan hati yang redha..

Tak mustahil dia adalah orang yang kita benci. Kalau yang kakak sayang, tak jadi hal lah.. Tapi kalau dapat yang kakak tak nak, lantaran kelemahan yang ada pada dia, ingatlah bahawa dalam diri setiap insan telah Allah ciptakan dengan kelebihan masing-masing.

Dan mungkin kakak ada kekuatan yang dapat mengubah si lelaki tadi supaya hidup dia bermakna dan mungkin kakak sahaja yang mampu mencungkil kelebihan yang ada pada dia.. Mungkin juga si lelaki ini ada sesuatu kelebihan yang kakak sangat-sangat perlukan yang satu dunia tak mampu bagi pada kakak..

Alangkah bertuahnya kakak kalau kakak mengerti setiap pemberian Allah dan belajar untuk bersyukur.. "

Sekali lagi berjuraian air mata saya turun. Terasa lemah lutut hendak berdiri. Emak menarik tubuh saya dan memeluk erat. Pelukan emak sangat-sangat kuat.

"Emak dah didik anak emak dari belum lahir untuk mencintai Allah..

Sekarang emak serahkan anak emak yang mak sayang sangat ni pada Allah untuk Dia pelihara.."

Emak mengakhiri kata-katanya dengan suara sebak dan air mata yang mengalir ke bahu saya...

Adakah kita bertemu dengan orang yang salah?

terkadang kita terfikir,

adakah kita bertemu dengan orang yang salah?

teman sekerja yang tak ngam’?

kawan2 sekolah/uni yang takleh nak buat geng study?

housemate yang menyakitkan hati ( sebab tak reti basuh pinggan, cakap pedas, etc etc)?

ataupun kekasih yang tiba-tiba dirasakan tak serasi?

( atau even adik beradik atau family kita yang kita takleh nak faham perangai mereka?)

(( hohoho.. jangan ingat entry ini hanya untuk cintan cintan sahaja, kay?))

sebab hakikatnya, kita akan bertemu dengan ramainya manusia yang menjengkelkan hati kita, dan sangat sukar untuk kita bersama dengan mereka.

sebab pelbagainya manusia yang kita temui di dunia ini. Terlalu ramai manusia dengan pelbagai karenahnya.

kerana berlainannya manusia itu adalah utk apa…..

) يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقۡنَـٰكُم مِّن ذَكَرٍ۬ وَأُنثَىٰ وَجَعَلۡنَـٰكُمۡ شُعُوبً۬ا وَقَبَآٮِٕلَ لِتَعَارَفُوٓاْ‌ۚ إِنَّ أَڪۡرَمَكُمۡ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَتۡقَٮٰكُمۡ‌ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ عَلِيمٌ خَبِيرٌ۬
Hai manusia, sesungguhnya Kami menciptakan kamu dari seorang laki-laki dan seorang perempuan dan menjadikan kamu berbangsa-bangsa dan bersuku-suku supaya kamu saling kenal mengenal. Sesungguhnya orang yang paling mulia di antara kamu di sisi Allah ialah orang yang paling bertakwa di antara kamu. Sesungguhnya Allah Maha Mengetahui lagi Maha Mengenal. ( Alhujurat: 13)

untuk berkenalan. Untuk mengetahui, memaknai manusia lain.

Untuk menyedari betapa beruntungnya kita, mahupun rendahnya kita berbanding manusia lain.

Untuk kita sering berlumba-lumba menggapai taqwa tanpa membeza-bezakan manusia lain.

Namun, tentu kita akan bertemu dengan manusia yang tak serasa dengan kita serta berlainan segalanya.

Sehingga sekecil2 perbezaan kita menjadi besar dan dijadikan hujah untuk menjauhkan diri. apatah lagi memutuskan silaturrahmi.

Walaupun diri kita dengan dia, satu aqidah, satu kefahaman dan satu cinta pada Allah..

DAn kita bertanya, mengapa diri kita dan dia, begitu jauh sekali?

Di situlah, kita kene sentiasa berusaha mencari titik persamaan…

Kita takkan pernah bertemu dengan orang yang salah.

Takkan!

Kerana Allah telah menakdirkan setiap saat dan inci dalam kehidupan kita.

Setiap takdir itu merupakan satu ketetapan Allah buat kita, merupakan sesuatu yang terbaik buat kita.

Dan setiap manusia yang kita temui itu, tentu memberikan makna sesuatu pada kita.

Walaupun banyaknya kejengkelan hati kita pada dia.

Namun, tentu sebenarnya mereka yang ‘salah’ itu sendiri banyak mengajar kita:

akan kekurangan diri kita sendiri.

Bukankah seorang musuh itu terkadang lebih jujur daripada seorang sahabat sejati – kata-kata hikmah Arab.

Setiap jodoh dan pertemuan tentunya telah ditetapkan oleh Allah,

Untuk kita belajar sesuatu darinya.

Tak pernah kita bertemu dengan orang yang salah… semua yang kita temui adalah stesen-stesen perhentian untuk mengutip hikmah, buat bekalan di dalam perjalanan..

Percayalah, kadang-kadang di awal pertemuan akan banyak berlaku perkelahian, salah faham dan ketidak seragaman.

Namun masa akan mengambil alih, memberi peluang makna kefahaman masuk ke dalam jiwa kita yang jernih.

Kerana itu, di setiap perselisihan, mahupun ketidak serasian, kembalilah semula kepada apa yang akan dapat menyatukan kita.

Itulah dia Allah.

Kerana dihitung perbezaan-bezaan , memang akan semakin menjadikan hati kita jauh.

Namun, those does not matter, sebab ALLAH sahaja yang membindkan hati kita insyaallah.

First of all, To whom it may concern, Gomene.. gomen nasai..

I forgot that I've promised someone an entry on how did I wean Zahraa last year..

So people, here we go the 'basi' story..

When Zahraa was 1-2 years old, my working hours was at night. As Zahraa was still breastfed during that time, I tended to fall asleep together in bed when nursing her (when to put her to sleep or nursing her in the middle of the night.) Therefore, I was so determined to wean her off when she was 2 by hook or by crook. But, unfortunately when she was exactly 2 years old in July, neither ZN nor me have the courage or heart to separate 'the natural pacifier' from her straight away like that.. So what we did were; ZN kept on telling her that she was big already, no more milk from mama anymore, and she needed to drink milk from cup/bottle already (psychology) and I on the other hand nonstop prayed to ALLAH to make the process easy for all of us..

Then one night came, where I seriusly needed to finish my work at that time, and did not have time to pacify Zahraa with the 'nenen' anymore, as she wanted to be glued with my 'nenen' all the time, then bravely I told her,

"Zahraa, Zahraa is big already, Zahraa cannot drink milk from mama anymore, milk mama is for baby only.. now milk mama is not for you anymore.. "

Then I rushed down to the kitchen, put some ketchup on my 'nenen' (as I knew she did not like sour taste at that time), then came back to the crying Zahraa and repeated the same thing. Then when she requested for the 'nenen', I gave, but then when she felt the sour taste from the 'nenen' she straight away stopped and then said,

"Masam!"

Then I replied, " Yes, masam.. because Zahraa dah big girl.. No more milk mama.. Now Zahraa sleep, mama 'bobok' (pat her bum) ok.. "

Amazingly, Alhamdulillah, when ALLAH says "Be!" then it will be! Allah really made it easy for me just like that. Everything went so spontaneous! I never planned to wean her off on that night.. It took me 2 days only to do like that then she was officially weaned off @ 25 months old, with no tears!

From my humble oppinion, the most important key is to really believe in ALLAH in what ever you do. When you make doa, dont just say it, but you really have to feel it, feel it with your heart! Ask help from ALLAH with all your heart.. Surely ALLAH will help! He always will! Trust me!

Now, let's end the 'basi' story..

Below is the latest video of my Zahraa with her favourite 'boyfriend'. Seriusly, she once told me, "Mama, Zahraa dont like boys" (now boleh la ckp camtuh kan.. hehe), but when I asked but papa is a 'boy', so, you dont like papa then? After that she answered, " Ok then, Zahraa like papa only.. " ( kununnnnnnnnnnnnnnn la kan! ) See, melalut lagik! I have so many stories to tell! Ok, now you all can watch the video.. hehe

So clever kan! Both ZN & I were shocked as well! Truly, kids are really a very fast learner! ZN just told her once only how to spell her name.. xsangka she could remember that and the most important thing is to spell that back when being asked perfectly! The video was captured by ZN for fun only at first without any intention to test her with the spelling. He was so excited after that, went downstairs straight away to the kitchen to tell me the story! I was at first, no way she could spell her name yet! Then, when he showed me the video, I was like, Wow!! Well done, baby mama!

Yes, Zahraa dear.. like papa always said,

"Zahraa is a big girl already, but Zahraa will always be 'momma's baby' ... "

Bukan baby Papa ye.. Peace, ZN! hehehe..

Dear diary..

I've been very busy these past few weeks.. I know I know, I have been 'complaining' to 'you' about this few times already. But lately, I am so, really, very, extremely pressure to finish all the million tonnes simulations I need to run, on time.. and because of that I easily got super tired when I got back home everyday.. as I sort of 'stressed out' myself with less rest during the day in order to spend as much time as I could in the lab.. Since that, I always feel like 'the pressure' has made me become a little bit more selfish mother and wife to my loved ones.. I'm not sure weather I am really 'neglecting' them or not but I just can't help it to feel like I am.. and most of the time I am not sure weather I am giving my priority right or not..

Nowadays, every morning when I wanted to send Zahraa to school, I always felt so guilty to her. How I wish I could spend more quality time with her.. But unfortunately, every time when I came back home from work these days I was so tired already to play with her.. End up, I'd just do the routine as in dinner and etc2, and then go to sleep, then the next day would come just like that.. I feel extremely sad when Zahraa recently keeps on wanting ZN more than myself, her mother.. I know I should not feel that way.. It's actually a bonus when your daughter is really close to her father, but I really miss those time when to Zahraa, I 'was' always her number one.. :( :( :(

This morning, I really did consider not to go to lab or maybe go half day only, instead, stay at home spending quality time with her, or go out 'shopping' you know like spending quality time alone with her like reading books at the MPH just the two of us, since it has been ages we did that together.. But again, when thinking rationally, I decided not to do that yet.. Maybe not today, again?

I know this is for temporary only.. The study will end one day, Insya ALLAH.. but what I'm afraid most is that the 'busyness' won't.. because I really don't want to be a working mother who is so busy at work and don't have time for their children.. I really don't..

Di dalam satu peristiwa, ‘Umar al-Khattab radhiyallaahu ‘anhu telah lalu berdekatan dengan sekumpulan kanak-kanak lelaki yang sedang bermain. Mereka bertempiaran lari semasa melihat kelibat ‘Umar kecuali seorang iaitu ‘Abdullah Ibn al-Zubayr radhiyallaahu ‘anhu. Lalu ‘Umar bertanya kepadanya, “mengapakah kamu tidak lari bersama kawan-kawanmu?” Beliau berkata, “Wahai Amir al-Mu’minin, aku tidak melakukan apa-apa kesalahan untuk aku takut kepadamu dan jalan ini juga tidak sempit. Ruang yang ada cukup untuk engkau lalu!”
Begitu juga di dalam suatu peristiwa, seorang anak remaja masuk ke istana mengadap salah seorang Khalifah Bani Umayyah, untuk bercakap mewakili kaum kabilahnya. Khalifah berkata, “carikan lelaki yang lebih dewasa untuk mewakili kaummu!” Budak lelaki itu berkata, “wahai Amir al-Mu’minin, seandainya kepimpinan ditentukan oleh faktor usia, maka di sana ada lebih ramai orang lain yang layak menjadi Khalifah selain engkau.”
Ini adalah sebahagian daripada catatan sejarah yang memaparkan tentang kualiti jati diri dan kejantanan sebenar yang ditonjolkan oleh manusia yang hebat biar pun pada usia yang masih muda.

Sesungguhnya ketokohan seseorang itu tidak pernah ditentukan semata-mata oleh tubuh yang besar dan sasa.
Allah SWT mengungkapkan tentang perspektif orang-orang Munafiq di dalam firman-Nya:

“Apabila engkau melihat mereka, engkau akan berasa takjub dengan penampilan tubuh badan mereka” [al-Munafiqun : 4]
Abdullah ibn Ubai ibn Salul, ketua kaum Munafiq ini mempunyai tubuh badan yang hebat dan berpakaian dengan pakaian yang mengagumkan. Beliau dan kaumnya berasa bahawa penampilan itu mampu menyembunyikan kejelekan diri mereka yang sebenar.
Tetapi di dalam sambungan ayat ini, Allah memberikan ungkapan yang sangat tepat tentang hakikat mereka ini:

“Sedangkan mereka itu tidak ubah seperti kayu reput yang tersandar di dinding” (Al-Munaafiqoon: 4)

Ada manusia yang tersalah memandang, menyangkakan bahawa kayu itulah yang menampung tegaknya dinding. Hakikatnya kayu itu langsung tidak mempunyai sebarang makna. Tersandar menunggu reput dimamah hari.

Di dalam sepotong hadith Sahih yang lain, Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam bersabda, “seorang lelaki berdosa yang bertubuh sasa di dalam hidup, tidak mempunyai sebarang nilai pada timbangan Akhirat walaupun pada kadar seekor nyamuk.”
Lalu Baginda membacakan firman Allah:

“ Mereka orang-orang yang kufur ingkar akan ayat-ayat Tuhan mereka dan akan pertemuan dengan-Nya; oleh itu gugurlah amal-amal mereka; maka akibatnya Kami tidak akan memberi sebarang nilai di Akhirat nanti pada timbangannya” [al-Kahf : 105]
‘Abdullah ibn Mas’oud merupakan seorang lelaki yang ‘dhaif pada tubuh badan. Pada suatu hari salah satu kakinya tersingkap hingga kelihatan betapa kurusnya kaki itu. Sebahagian sahabat yang melihatnya ketawa. Lalu Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam bersabda, “Kamu mentertawakan kakinya yang kurus, tetapi aku bersumpah demi Allah yang jiwaku berada di tangan-Nya, kaki-kaki itu lebih berat di Akhirat nanti berbanding Gunung Uhud!”

Sidang Jemaah sekalian,
Usaha untuk melahirkan manusia yang memiliki jati diri sejati di era ini adalah suatu cabaran yang sangat besar. Setiap anak yang lahir, mereka memiliki fitrah dan potensi yang sama. Akan tetapi ramai yang terjebak ke kancah kesilapan apabila membiarkan kemewahan dan kesenangan hidup merosakkan potensi ini hingga menjejaskan personaliti mereka.

Kembali kepada persoalan utama, apakah tindak tanduk kita yang membunuh potensi itu, dan apakah tindak tanduk kita yang boleh membangunkan potensi berkenaan?
Di mimbar Jumaat ini, kita rumuskan beberapa amalan yang terdapat di dalam Islam, khusus untuk membina jati diri anak-anak kita agar mereka membesar dengan nilai peribadi dan kematangan yang optimum:

Pertama: Gelaran
Di dalam Sunnah, banyak dipaparkan contoh bagaimana anak-anak diberikan gelaran Abu oleh Rasulullah sallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. Biar pun kanak-kanak ini masih kecil, tetapi gelaran Abu itu menyuntik nilai kedewasaan pada anak-anak ini.
Anas bin Malik radhiyallaahu ‘anhu menceritakan bagaimana beliau mempunyai seorang adik yang masih kecil, baru sahaja belajar menjamah makanan pejal. Dia digelar Abu ‘Umair. Apabila adiknya ini ada bersama Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam akan berkata, “Wahai Abu ‘Umair, apa yang Nughair sedang lakukan?” (Nughair itu adalah seekor burung kecil yang sering menjadi permainan Abu ‘Umair itu). [Hadith riwayat al-Bukhari]
Di dalam amalan kita yang mungkin penggunaan gelaran Abu atau Ummu itu agak janggal, terdapat amalan yang biasa dilakukan dengan motif yang sama. Anak-anak diberikan gelaran Abang Long atau Yop, Uda, Alang dan lain-lain, yang mana penggunaan gelaran ini kepada anak-anak membantu mereka untuk cepat berasa dewasa dengan sifat keabangan dan tanggungjawab.
Amalan seperti ini harus diteruskan dan hindarkanlah memberi gelaran yang membantutkan rasa kedewasaan anak-anak ini seperti Anje, Bucu, Boboi atau Adik kepada anak yang sudah sepatutnya dewasa dan menggalas tanggungjawab kehidupan.

Kedua: Membawa Anak-anak ke Majlis Orang Dewasa
Amalan ini juga membantu mendedahkan anak-anak kepada alam dewasa dan meningkatkan daya fikiran mereka. Ini merupakan amalan Sahabat-sahabat Nabi. Mereka sering membawa anak untuk hadir bersama di dalam majlis mereka bersama dengan Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam.
Muawiyah ibn Qarrah meriwayatkan daripada bapanya bahawa Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam apabila duduk bersama para sahabat, setiap seorang mereka akan membawa anak masing-masing yang mana anak-anak itu akan berdiri di belakang bapa mereka, lalu si bapa akan mendudukkan si anak di hadapannya. [Hadith riwayat al-Nasaa’ie]
Di dalam kehidupan Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam dan para Sahabat, kehadiran anak-anak di dalam majlis mereka tidak pernah dianggap sebagai gangguan, malah anak-anak itu dibawa oleh ibu bapa dengan matlamat yang sama, mendedahkan anak dengan majlis orang dewasa untuk mendewasakan mereka.

Ketiga: Mengiktiraf Anak-anak di Khalayak
Sahl ibn Sa’id menceritakan bagaimana Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam di dalam satu majlis, baginda dibawakan cawan untuk minum. Di kanan baginda ada seorang kanak-kanak manakala yang dewasa berada di sebelah kiri. Selepas Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam minum, baginda bertanya kepada kanak-kanak itu, “apakah kamu benarkan aku beri cawan ini kepada orang-orang dewasa sebelum aku berikannya kepada kamu?” Kanak-kanak itu menjawab, “aku tidak akan mengalah dengan hakku untuk minum sejurus selepasmu.” Lalu Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam memberikan cawan itu kepadanya. [Hadith riwayat al-Bukhari]
Kita sebagai ibu bapa dan orang yang dewasa harus menggalakkan perbuatan-perbuatan seperti ini, melayan anak-anak ini sesekali sebagai manusia dewasa untuk menimbulkan rasa tinggi harga diri pada diri mereka.
Di dalam sebuah hadith, Anas bin Malik radhiyallaahu ‘anhu menceritakan bagaimana Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam melalui sekumpulan kanak-kanak lalu baginda memberi salam kepada mereka. [Hadith riwayat Muslim]
Jangan sekali-kali memalukan anak-anak dengan memarahi atau menghina mereka di hadapan orang ramai kerana ia akan membunuh keyakinan diri dan menimbulkan dendam yang merosakkan emosi. Anak-anak, biar pun pada usia yang kecil sudah mempunyai harga diri yang mesti dihargai, khususnya oleh ibu bapa mereka sendiri.

Keempat: Mengajar Mereka Sukan Lasak
Abu Umamah ibn Sahl radhiyallaahu ‘anhu meriwayatkan bahawa ‘Umar al-Khattab radhiyallaahu ‘anhu menulis kepada Abu ‘Ubaidah al-Jarrah radhiyallaahu ‘anhu mengarahkan kepadanya, “ajarkanlah anak-anak kamu berenang” [riwayat Ahmad di awal Musnad 'Umar al-Khattab]
Anak-anak perlu didedahkan dengan sukan-sukan yang boleh meningkatkan semangat, kekuatan jiwa dan daya survival diri mereka. Malah dalam kehidupan seharian, anak-anak yang lelaki harus diajar membuat kerja yang kasar sesuai dengan kemampuan mereka seperti membasuh kereta, berkebun, mengecat, bertukang dan lain-lain aktiviti di bawah matahari untuk meningkatkan kelasakan mereka.

Kelima: Menghindarkan Anak-anak Lelaki Daripada Elemen Keperempuanan
Anak-anak lelaki wajar dihindarkan daripada aktiviti-aktiviti yang lazimnya dekat dengan naluri dan jiwa perempuan. Memakaikan anak-anak dengan pakaian yang berwarna atau bercorak seperti perempuan, memakai sutera dan barang kemas, bergelumang dengan muzik yang lembik biar pun ia nasyid dan hal-hal lain yang mengurangkan kelasakan anak-anak ini hendaklah dihindarkan

Keenam: Memberikan Tugasan dan Berkongsi Rahsia Dengan Kanak-kanak
Anas bin Malik radhiyallaahu ‘anhu menceritakan, “Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam datang kepadaku ketika aku sedang bermain dengan kanak-kanak yang lain, baginda memberi salam kepadaku dan menghantar aku ke suatu tugasan pendek. Ia telah melewatkan aku pulang kepada ibu. Apabila aku tiba di rumah, ibuku bertanya, “apakah yang telah melewatkan kamu?” Aku menjawab, “Rasulullah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam telah menghantar aku ke suatu tugasan.” Ibuku bertanya, “Tugasan apakah itu?” Aku menjawab, “Ia adalah rahsia!” Ibuku berkata, “jangan ceritakan rahsia Nabi sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam kepada sesiapa” [Hadith riwayat Muslim]

Ketujuh: Menghindarkan Anak-anak Daripada Tenggelam Dengan Kemewahan
Ibu bapa biar pun berada dan hidup mewah, mestilah mengenakan beberapa kesusahan kepada anak-anak sebagai latihan untuk membentuk jati diri mereka. Jika anak mahukan basikal, biar pun ibu bapa mampu membelikannya, anak wajar disuruh mengumpul duit sendiri agar mereka belajar menghargainya dan belajar berusaha.

ZN even had to download this song & the geng (from the Cintai Islam list) so that she would be able to listen to the songs in the car as well..

2011 saya bermula dengan sangat sibuk.

Sangat sibuk sehingga saya boleh terus tertidur apabila pulang ke rumah. :(

Juga rasa sangat bersalah kepada ZN & ZZ kerana seperti 'diabaikan'..

Tiada lagi kerja pada waktu malam kerana kerja pada siang hari sudah sangat memenatkan..

Setakat ini, saya tidak lagi larat untuk bekerja pada hujung minggu juga seperti selalu..

Tiada juga berjalan-jalan pada hujung minggu..

Hanya mengunjungi rumah keluarga dan menghadiri jemputan saudara dan sahabat handai..

Kerana saya rasa sangat penat..

Setiap hari saya sangat menanti-nantikan hujung minggu..

Juga tidak sabar menanti sebarang percutian yang boleh menyebabkan saya berhenti memikirkan kerja buat seketika..

Kerana badan dan otak saya mahu berehat..

Ya ALLAH, berikanlah saya kekuatan..

2010 Wedding

Went to Safa's wedding on the 7th December 2010. Got another chance to go out 'dating' with ZN to the wedding as Zahraa was suddenly sick (poor Zahraa, she vomitted 7 times the day before) and my mother insisted not to bring her along with us. Oh, btw, I mistakenly wrote somewhere (@ K.Zura's fb status kot) that the only time we dated each other was at our 3rd Anniversary celebration. There were actually three times we went out together, 'dating' since Zahraa was born. The first time was at ZN's Co Annual Dinner where we both were crowned as the King & Queen of the night (believe me or not :p), the second time was at our 3rd Anniversary celebration, and here came the third time @ my Safa's wedding dinner.

It was such a nice and lovely evening for both of us.. Both ZN & I got to spend some quality time together, meeting lots of old friends there (mckk/kmys/uk friends), catching up with them n etc.. I brought the camera with me and took lots of pics, unfortunately the only photos I can upload here are only these two pics.. (other pics are sume goyang yg amat, xcantek.. kene beli SLR la nampaknya after this :p )

Yes, we did!

As I mentioned in my previous2 entry, we went to play paintball game last weekend. We departed at ~ 9 am in the morning and happened to be the place ( Mudtrekker Paintball ) was located quite near to my parent's house. So by 9.30 we were able to reach the destination. We were the second team to arrive there. There were not so many people there yet at that time. I went to see the so called 'Marshal' and gave him the paint balling vouchers given by the sweet Awanis, filled in the indemnity form required and settled everything. Later, the Marshal came again and gave a short briefing on how to use the gun/marker, how to wear the face mask, the rules and safety that we needed to follow and know while we were in the game area. I was so excited as I was sikit2 like, Marshal, how to do this and that , or maybe Ohh, I see! Oh, cool! and etc2.. and he seemed to enjoy the full attention I gave him during the briefing! Hehe..

The war games were between Blue & Yellow (but not that yellow :p ) team. We actually did the 'lat ta li lat lai li tam plom' to decide on the team! So funny kan! I was in the blue team with ZN & Man while Umar, TT & Imah were Yellow's. The first game was the 'kalah mati' game. Whoever got shot at their chest or at the back have to go out to the Marshal's base when the Marshal called. The team with more members left will win the game. Both rounds of this type of game was won by the Yellow group. The blue team was still in the warming out mode, maybe? Hehe.. We were like, asal asek kene tembak je nih? hehehe.. The two bruises that I had was shot during this game! One was shot by Umar and another one by Imah! (Yes, ppl.. she can shoot very well, ok! and sgt sakit ok! hehe.. )

It;s ON now! ZN in action!

These two gals were always together at first.. They're sort of backing up each other..

The second game was the 'Flag Game'. In this game, from each group's base, we had to go to the middle and put the group flag upright in the marked area like this picture below. Once we did that, we had to defend our flag for two minutes other wise the other team would come and put their flag instead. The team that managed to put their flag upright for two minutes win the game. Moi blue team won both rounds of this game! Yeay! I was like sort of the mastermind of this game.. :p (Konon je! Masuk bakul angkat sendirik ye tuan-tuan.. hehe ) Actually we put Uthman to take care of the flag but unfortunately when the Marshal started the game, Uthman was not ready yet! So, without thinking (of being shot and etc), I took the role straight away from him! For both rounds, I quickly ran to the middle (very fast you know! Even Uthman & ZN were like, wah ,dah hilang? hehe) and put our blue flag raised upright! Then from the fort nearby I defended the flag, leading the blue team! Whoever from the Yellow team dare to come close, we would shoot! (Fuiyoo! Tere kan? hehe) At that time, 2 minutes was felt very long! The longest 2 minutes we've ever had! The Yellow team did not have any single chance to put their flag at all as I was very quick and the blue attacked and defended very well in this game! I never expected I still could run very fast like that. As when I tried to run several times before, (to have a race with ZN just for fun coz ZN could not believe that I was a sprinter back in the secondary & primary school) I felt like I just could not run anymore.. No stamina and the stomach would ache straight away.. So on that day, I, myself was amazed by me! LOL! Hence people, the moral of the story here, you actually can do everything you wanna do. Just believe in yourself and go for it! For the stomach ache, and etc are all in the mind.. Oh btw, the picture below with Yellow flag upright was taken after we finished the 'official' war games. Later on, we just played for fun, just to finish all the pellets that we had.

And now, TT and Umar were teaming up!

Unfortunately ZN and I had to go back earlier, leaving the rest for more fun. My parent who were taking care of my Zahraa while we were playing had to attend a wedding on that day. Lucky us, we managed to reach home in time although we were technically lost at first! (as we went back w/o the gps!) We accidentally took a short cut through Kuala Selangor and Puncak Alam as we missed the highway entrance before! That was the fisrt time I went back to my parent house using that way. And my first time to Kuala Selangor as well! The journey back home was only 15-20 minutes! plus with no toll! It was so near! But later, I was told that Umar made even a quicker journey as he did not pass through the Puncak Alam at all! Another short cut, from Kuala Selangor, enter the Saujana Utama area straight away to Shah Alam! (maybe keluar depan Alam Budiman kot) Can save another 5 minutes maybe..

Oh well, all in all, I really had a great time that weekend. I felt like so macho after the game! hehee..We then had a gotong royong to cuci the baju, kasut and caps @ the parent house as they were so dirty in mud and paint! Then as the parent went to a wedding, and we were all so lazy and tired to cook so we had lunch together @ The Nyonya! The food was superb!

Normally, whenever I wanna send Zahraa to school these days, on the way to her school, I will straight away switch the radio to cd as she will request for the 'Your Mother' song by Yusuf Islam. I will only switch on the radio when it is on the way back from her school ie when I am alone in the car. But this morning, I switched on the radio first instead and was really interested on the topic aired @ IKIM at that time. As for Zahraa, she did request for her song as usual, but Alhamdulillah, I managed to distract her. And Alhamdulillah again, I managed to listen something for my soul this morning..

The topic for the slot this morning was - Syurga buat Isteri Solehah. I was touched when the speaker mentioned something like this,

"Carilah redha ALLAH, sebelum mencari redha suami.. Apabila ALLAH redha pada kita maka suami yang beriman secara tidak langsung akan redha pada kita.. Maka syurgalah buat isteri yang solehah.. "

Upon hearing this nasyid at the end of the slot, I felt so guilty to ZN.. As I was quite busy with my work recently..

Muadz bin Anas reported: Rasulullah SAW said, “Whoever gives up wearing elegant and expensive garments out of humbleness, when he can do so, Allah will call him on the Day of Resurrection and before all the creations, He will give him the choice to wear whichever garment of Iman he would like to wear” [At-Tarmidhi]

Comment by Imam Nawawi:-

To adopt humility and not to assert superiority over others, according to this Hadith, is an excellent act with Allah.” The clothes of Iman” imply those special clothings of Jannah that Allah has prepared for sincere believers only.

Oh, did I tell you before that I do like games, sports, and those alike?

Therefore, We, as in, my ZN, brothers, sisters and I are going to play paintballing on this coming Sunday! Can u imagine how fun it will be? I am so excited! This is going to be my second time playing paintball, the first time was in the UK. Thank you very much to my dear friend, Awanis for the vouchers!

The Preparation:

•Wear long sleeve t-shirt, long pants, track shoes and a cap. Wear the cap on top of the safety mask (which is provided). Always remember – do not remove your face mask while in the playing field.
•Bring along sweat towel to wrap around your neck for extra protection.
•We have showers at our field, do BYO towels and shampoo.
•Every participant will need to fill out a indemnity form which will be given to you on site.
•Stretch before your first game play.
•Please hydrate before you dehydrate. Drink at least 500ml of water before you start playing, if you feel thirsty during the game and look for water then its too late. You will dehydrate and most problem start to get cramps. Drink more after each game even if you don’t feel thirsty especially in tropical hot weather.

“There are no days more beloved to God that He be worshiped in them than the ten days of Dhul Ḥijja. Each day of fasting in it is equivalent to the fast of an entire year. And each night standing in prayer is equivalent to standing in prayer on the Night of Power (Laylat al-Qadr).”

Maka, bangun lah kamu juga di malam hari..

We wanted to go out for dinner. I put a cardigan on her as she wore a sleeveless shirt at that time, and then told her, "Zahraa kene pakai nih, ok.. nanti sejuk.. it's cold out there.." When it was time to go:

Mama : Zahraa, jom!!!!

Zahraa : Jom, jom!! Jom pegi UK.. UK coldddd sgttt!

Mama : !@#$%^^&** ?

This morning, when Zahraa woke up, after cuddling2 with her, I asked..

Mama : Zahraa, zahraa nak pegi mane.. UK ke Singapore?

Zahraa : ermmm... UK!

Mama : why? why do you want to go to uk..

Zahraa : Zahraa nak naik new car papa...

Mama : Ohh, UK jauh sgttt.. Remember? we went to UK by aeroplane.. cannot naik car papa.. Singapore leh naik car papa.. Singapore ade Kakak Farzana, kakak Farizah.. So Zahraa nak pegi mane now? UK ke Singapore..

Zahraa smiles and then answers,

Zahraa : OKla.. Singapore lah.. But Zahraa nak pegi UK jugak, OK?

My Baby Zahraa is a real big girl now!

She's now can solat jemaah with us, until finish without playing, talking or etc. She can follow all the action in tertib and pray in complete telekung even though ZN read long surah when solat jemaah at home! What make me proud more is she also can solat properly at the mosque! There was one time when we bought her solat Isya' at a masjid, near our house, there were few toddlers about her age playing around, did not perform solat. What made thing worse was the imam read long surah and it was 4 rakaat! I was afraid that Zahraa would stop praying and join the children playing. But again, to my surprise, she patiently waited and finished her solat quietly, in tertib and in telekung! I was so touched and proud seeing how she behaved at that time.. To my dear baby Zahraa, if you happen to read this one day, Mama want to let you know that, Mama really really do proud of you.. You manage to solat properly at the age of 2! Well done, sweetheart!

(NOTE: Long surah - surah not in Muqaddam such as, Surah Al-Mulk, As-Sajadah, Al-Qaf, Ar-Rahman, Al-Qalam n etc.. )

Besides that, I am proudly announcing here, Zahraa is now officially diaperless (during the day, at home and school only) after about 4 days being potty trained! How fast is that kan! She started on last Tuesday until Friday.. then we went back and slept over at our parents' house, so no potty train class was being conducted on the weekend but then surprisingly, on Monday, she still managed to pee and poop inside the potty! Like this morning, few minutes later after she woke up, she told me she wanted to pee, then off we we went to the toilet, I removed her diaper and she sat down on the potty and successfully peed inside the potty! Cool kan! Later on, while we ate breakfast together, she told me she wanted to poop, and then pooped inside the potty as well! After that, while i was still in the toilet, she was in the room, playing alone, she suddenly came to the toilet, telling me she wanted to pee again. I thought she was like playing with me, as I would cheer out loud when she managed to poop/pee inside the potty and most of the time she loves seeing me like that.. but then she peed for real again! Oh, my baby.. you really a big girl now!

There's another story of Zahraa-d-good-girl. Last weekend, we went to Empire for dinner. She loves pasta a lots. So, we ordered her Fettuccini Alfredo.. When her food came, I took a fork wanted to feed her. Then she said,

"It's ok, mama.. Zahraa suap sdirik.. Zahraa is a big girl, bukan baby.."

So, that night, both ZN and I were able to enjoy our dinner together, no need to take turn to eat anymore, while she's eating her fettuccini all by her self..

Oh my Zahraa..

You're such a darling, sayang.. Mama & Papa love you so much! More than you know.. Semoga membesar jadi anak yang solehah and berjaya dunia akhirat.. Ameennnn.. Muuuaaahhhhsssss!!!!!!!!

This type of person will try to prostrate at that time, but his back will made to be one stiff plate (the bone will not bend or flex)"

Yesterday, one of my friend told me that she just found out that she's being blocked by X at FB and was sooo annoyed! I laughed out loud upon hearing her story (I just being sarcastic) but then comforted her,

"... she's the one who's having a problem, not you. Some people just like to think about themselves only and don't even care to bother what others would feel. You should be proud that you are not like that! So, don't bother lah.. "

[DISCLAIMER: This is a respond to her problem only]

However, having said that, sometimes I could not get it too why some people can just simply block other friends like that with no significant reasons, well at least not to me. In fact, I was also being asked by my loved ones to block certain ppl due to some valid reasons but then I politely refused as I was afraid that they would 'terasa hati' if they found it out one day (of course they can find out later2 kan!). That's why sometimes I just don't like being myself.. As it hurts when you care while others don't kan? But as I said before,

'Don't Bother lah..'

I just came back from sending Zahraa to school. On the way back, listened to IKIM - 'Islam itu Indah' slot.. I felt so motivated upon hearing the respond of the speaker on one of the caller's problem. Cant help myself from sharing it here..

The Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam, said:

"Shall I not inform you of what I fear for you more than the maseeh ud-dajjaal? It is the hidden shirk. It is when a man stands up for prayer, then beautifies his prayer for another to look at."

[Related by Ibn Maajah (2604) from the hadeeth of Aboo Sa`eed al-Khudree, radiyallaahu `anhu. The hadeeth is hasan.]

The Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam, said:

"What I fear for you the most is the minor shirk, that is ar-riyaa. Allaah will say on the Day of Judgement when He is rewarding the people for their actions: Go to those for whom you did riyaa for in the world then see if you find the reward with them."

[Related by Ahmad (5/428, 429) and al-Baghawee in Sharh us-Sunnah (4135) from the hadeeth of Mahmood bin Lubaid, radiyallaahu `anhu, with an authentic chain upon the conditions of Muslim.]

It was said in a poem:

Enemies of the soul and the shaitaan; resist them both,

If they both give sincere advice to you, then escape from them both.

So, BE WARNED my brother & sister in faith, from riyaa as it is an evil tribulation annihilating the actions.

O Allaah, Lord of the Heavens and the earth, purify our hearts from hypocrisy and our actions from riyaa. Make us firm upon Your straight path so that we achieve certainty..

Another thing to ponder..

In our traditions the two fundamental actions of the month of Ramadhan is Siyaam (fasting) and Qiyaam (standing in prayer). Many of us stress on Siyaam, but very less think about Qiyaam. We think that qiyaam (standing during the night in prayer) is restricted to Laylat al-Qadr. This is incorrect. Every night of the Holy Month of Ramadhan is a night of Qiyaam. Hence those who have to meet responsibilities the next day should plan to wake up at sahar time, perform their salat al-layl (which is an extension of qiyaam) and then take a light sahri and get ready for their day. One of the ways of getting rid of the accursed Satan is engaging in abundant worship. However, abundance without knowledge would not reap the desired benefit. One must at least know the meaning of what one is reciting.

The more the knowledge and understanding of one's worship, the better one's worship.

Solat di rumah adalah lebih afdhal (baik) bagi wanita.

Ini berdasarkan hadith Nabi S.A.W yang menggalakkan muslimah solat di rumah. [Sources]

TETAPI apabila dirasakan pergi ke masjid dapat menambah banyak ilmu /suasana solat antara di masjid dan di rumah adalah berbeza - di masjid terdapat ramai orang, dan dapat menambah rasa untuk lebih bersungguh-sungguh untuk beribadah dengan selesa dan khusyuk (suasana Ramadhan adalah meriah, dan dapat mngelakkan daripada mengantuk), maka ke masjid lah disarankan, dengan syarat:

menjaga pandangan,
menggunakan hijab yang proper,
tidak menggunakan wangi-wangian, dan
mendapat izin suami..

Kerana, nilaian kekhusyukan adalah berbeza..

Let's prepare for the Ramadhan, Insha Allah..

01. Buy all necessities for the month of Ramadan before Ramadan so you can spend less time during the holy month rushing around. You can be more focused on your religious rituals and spiritual development. Everyone in the family, even the kids, can participate, writing a shopping list, preparing some meals to be stored in the freezer.

02. If you have gotten into bad sleeping habits throughout the year, start readjusting now so you can wake up for Fajr prayer.

03. Sunnah fasts of Syaaban (the month before Ramadan) help to prepare for Ramadan and help to make the transition into the holy month a smooth one.

Mari puasa sunat, kawan2 !

Antaranya apabila bertanya Usamah bin Zaid Nabi s.a.w mengapa baginda banyak berpuasa pada Bulan Syaaban, Nabi s.a.w menjawab:

“Syaaban antara Rejab dan Ramadan, manusia lalai mengenainya. Padanya (Bulan Syaaban) diangkat amalan hamba-hamba Allah. Aku suka tidak diangkat amalanku, melainkan aku dalam keadaan berpuasa” (Riwayat al-Nasai, dinilai hasan oleh al-Albani dalam Silsilah al-Sahihah 4/522).

Aisyah r.aha juga menyebut:

“Aku tidak pernah melihat Rasulullah s.a.w berpuasa dalam bulan lain (selain daripada Ramadhan) lebih daripada puasa Syaaban. Baginda pernah berpuasa Syaaban sepenuhnya, kecuali hanya beberapa hari (tidak puasa)” (Riwayat al-Bukhari dan Muslim).

04. Reduce TV watching and prepare the family for the new spirit of Ramadan. Engage with your kids more and more in creative activities that remind them of Ramadan. (Suggested activities including reading the moral story books in group).

05. Organize your tape/CD collection to make it easy to select and to play nice nasheed (Hamd/Naat) to sing along together or Quran and Dua recitation, so as to introduce the spirit of the month gradually.

06. Plan ahead for the time you are spend at home in order not to lose the balance between your responsibility as a parent to supervise the children's studies and your engagement in religious practices such as reading Quran and praying Salat.

07. Plan ahead if your daughter needs a hijab to accompany you to the mosque. If possible, get shoes for the kids that are easy to tie when they leave the mosque. Do you or the kids need prayer rugs for prayer? Plan transportation to the mosque and back home.

08. Prepare as much cooking as you can before Ramadan. Here are some time-saving tips:

Prepare some vegetables and store them in the freezer to have them ready when needed.
If you soak dates in milk or water and eat them for Iftar, pit the dates before Ramadan.
Chop onions, garlic and store them in the freezer to have them ready when cooking during Ramadan.

09. If you are planning to invite guests for Iftar, the best time to do that is during your monthly period (menstruation). This has several advantages:

You will be able to taste the food that is going to be served.
You won't be engaged in some acts of worship so you'll have more time for cooking.
You won't have guilt feelings for staying after 'Isha' with the guests and not going to the mosque.

10. Prepare your kids before Ramadan that they have to help you more in housework and in setting the table and preparing the Iftar. Relate their action with the notion of Sadaqah and good deeds. Remind them that the reward of their good deeds is multiplied during Ramadan.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to say these words when the month of Sha`ban draws to a close:

"O Muslims! A noble and generous month has come to you. A month in which a night is better than one thousand months, and this month is the month of charity, patience, and mercy. In this month the gates of Paradise become wide open and the gates of Hell are shut, and the devils are chained…” (Reported by An-Nasa'i)

they would wish if THE WHOLE YEAR is Ramadan.."

Mama sedey sgt tgk muke Zahraa mase 1st day tinggal arith.. everytime pk muke tuh kat office until now pon leh rase sedey.. if pk cam sure Zahraa pk nape mama tinggal Zahraa, rase sedey je.. mama bukn saje2 tinggal Zahraa k.. mama have to work.. mama bonded ngan TNB.. papa kate, tuh la sape suro blaja pandai2 dpt scholar tnb.. huhu.. ade ke patut kan.. Zahraa, always remember dat mama loves u very much tau! More than you know! n thanx to mama tok n cik tt sudi jage Zahraa..

Ohh, nk cite psal papa plaks.. kan mama kene gi keje kan.. papa sgt sweet !! mase 1st day nk kene gi keje, papa letak sume brg2 mama dlm kete.. siapkn everything, letak kunci kat kereta, sticker UNITEN mama pindah to kete yg mama nk gune, smart tag letak dlm kete n sume2 laa.. mama just prepare diri sdirik, physically n mentally.. huhu.. papa cam tau2 je mama sedey pg tuh.. after dah jumpe Zahraa kat atas (mama tok dah siap2 amek Zahraa kul 6.30 am), mama turun bwh, tgk papa tgh tunggu mama kat bwh.. papa hug mama n kate dun worry n dun be sad, jgn drive laju, 1st day xpe lambat.. pastuh papa hantar mama to kete, tgk mama drive off kluar gate, then br papa masuk kete n ikut mama from blakang.. sweet sgt mase tuh, xreti nk cite.. hehe.. tgh sedey2, rase sgt best ade org support.. sampai je office, tgh parking kete, dpt call from papa.. check everything was ok x, sampai office safe x.. masuk bilik kat office dpt email from papa yg sgt sweet jugak.. hehe.. tq ye zahrin.. sgt sgt appreciate wat u did at dat time.. u gave me strength!

Like k.fatin, kitorg pon xde gamba raya sgt nk update.. sume kat camera tt, k.ngah, abg jad, ura n etc. will update them soon!

Nway, Selamat Hari Raya everyone !!! Definitely a better raye with Zahraa Zahrin !!

My Zahraa - Birthday, HFM, and Solat

Happy 2nd Birthday, Zahraa Zahrin!

Yes, last friday was my Zahraa's 2nd birthday.. Like last year, there was no big celebration for Zahraa. My mother does not like the idea of celebrating birthday with big party etc. So does my husband.. As both very-important-persons in my life say, 'NO', that means nothing lah for you this year my dear..

The plan was to celebrate it at school. We, as in Zahrin & I, would take leave and bring a cake to the school and would celebrate her birthday with her friends and teachers at school. Unfortunately, on Tuesday, I was told that two of Zahraa's classmate got infected by HFM. I was told by Zahraa's teacher that the virus started by the mother of Zahraa's classmate. Two weeks before that, the mother got infected by HFM, (i have no idea, how on earth she got it) and the worse part is that, she still sent the son to school as the son was not infected by the disease yet (but come one la kan.. ) The son then got it on that Tuesday n started to spread the virus at school.. (oh my.. ) I straight away decided not to send Zahraa to school at the moment even before the school started to close on Friday (Yes, it was on Zahraa's birthday!) for a week. Luckily, Zahraa's antibody was strong enuf, she did not get infected yet.. Thank you Allah for that..

The night before her birthday, Zahrin told her that tomorrow was her birthday, and we were going to buy her new toy! So, off we went to Toysrus, wanted to buy something, but ended up, went back home with nothing as we did not know what to buy anymore, as Zahraa already has most of them already, i mean toys for her age lah. So we decided to bank in money to her bank instead. However, to our surprise, the next morning, she woke up, and we wished her "Happy Birthday!" and then she started to ask, "Where's toys Jara?" (where's the new toy that we promised b4?) So papa, never ever makes a promise to your daughter anymore, as she does remember and will request for that! ;)

So, we went to buy her a Mickey's & Minnie's Car remote control as she wanted that one and believe me or not, she really likes it! She can handle the remote as it is quite toddler friendly (but of course with bump here and there lah.. poor mini coupe! :p ) We also went to Secret Recipe that night and bought her a piece of cake and then asked one of the staff to put a candle on the cake. We sang her the birthday song and she blew it off even before the song finished! :p (Zahraa likes blowing candles! ) Enjoy the video below..

On the next day, we held a 'Bbq Makan2 for Nadzimuddin's & Ab Aziz's family members' at our house. I ordered a Barbie cake with Lana's Mom, so that we could together sing the birthday song to Zahraa (as I know Zahraa will surely like it! She loves singing birthday song). The cake was so lovely and Zahraa liked it very much. Thank you very much, auntie! (Lana, pls let her know eh! ;) ) I'll upload the pictures of the makan2 later. They r still in my sister's cam.

Zahraa got a mini telekung for her birthday from her maksu (Zahrin's youngest sister). On the next day, we put it on her for Maghrib and then solat jemaah together, 3 of us. After finished solat Maghrib, I asked her to solat sunat with her papa again. And she did it! I quickly grabbed Zahrin's hp and captured the moment..

Cute kan!!!! Smoga jd anak solehah ye sweetie..

Zahraa & school

Our baby gal

Dear diary,

Last May, we started the 'searching-4-the-best-school' for Zahraa for the 2nd time.. We went for 3 days trial for 2 schools and ended up sticking with the 'same school' as 'before'. The Husband & I were actually looking for an Islamic school with a very good daycare and less kids. However, we cud not find any that can suit our can I say standard? for Zahraa's age. Maybe I am too choosy. But when it comes to Zahraa, I just have to.. Wish I could quit my job now and start my 'Islamic nursery/kindergarten bussiness' to cater the needs of good Islamic school for babies and small kids.. Sigh.. Mayb we do already have few good Islamic schools for bigger kids but not for 3 yrs kids and below?

Anyway, here are some updates on Zahraa:

1. She can count 1-20 since she was 20 months old

2. She can recite Al-Ikhlas already, but her pronunciation is not very clear though

3. We do not teach her ABC or Alif Ba Ta yet, she knows few alphabets already but not all from A-Z / Alif - Ya.

4. She likes to draw & colour, but doesnt like hand/finger painting. She freaks out to see her fingers/hands turn into different colours.

5. She likes to ask us to draw something for her, something like this; picture of mama tok n her holding hands, holding flowers, eats ice cream or mayb picture of papa's eating rice! Sorry zahraa, mama is not good in drawing at all.. cannot draw something like dat yet! ;) So and so, most of the time, papa will draw for her..

6. Fruits - She does not like papaya or banana. She eats apple, likes watermelon, grapes and Indian/Pakistan mango (she does not like other types of mangos)

7. She likes keropok, murukku and nuts very much! Oh and yes, her all time favourite now -

Oreo Double Stuf Peanut Butter Creme & Chocolate Sandwich Cookies !

She requests for it every day & night!

8. We taught her to use the word 'and' before. Since then she practices it often:

Mama : Do you love me?

Zahraa : Zahraa loves mama... AND papa AND mama tok AND abah tok AND bla bla bla...

(the list goes on non stop but with the words 'and' being emphasized by her loud and cute voice! so cute!! )

9. She now can count things up until 10. Normally we just put below than 5 things and then ask her to count..

10. She likes to use the word 'lah' since she went to school.. 'no lah', 'papa lah' n etc..

11. She likes to play with ball, a lots! esp when it comes to play with papa! Her all time favourite!

12. She can now play on her own (before this after few minutes she will start searching for me!) She can create stories while playing with her doll.. so cutee!

13. Since she went to school again last month, we keep on telling her that she's a big gal now.. but she will reply back saying, "No! Zahraa baby gal mama lah!"

14. The teachers at school told me that, they found that Zahraa is quite independent now. . They even ask me to start potty train her already as she can tell when she poo, pee or even fart!

15. She can take off her pants on her own now.

16. When she wakes up in the morning and DOES NOT see me around she will shout, "Mama, where are you?" with her cute voice.. So cute!

17. She knows almost all animals, fruits, colours, and shapes already since i think she was 18 months old mayb? not sure lah but since long time ago

18. She can take off her shoes on her own now.. ;)

19. She can play big and small slide all by herself now.. Enjoy the video.. ;)

Dear diary,

Today is marked as one of our happiest day together.. The feeling of being loved deeply by the husband I love is just indescribable.. n because of that we are going to do something sweet together today.. provided that the husband can take half day today lah.. ohh, another thing, can't wait for our 3rd anniversary on this coming August! Will surely plan something special n the husband will surely be shocked! As for now, let it be a secret lah.. ;)

Allhamdulillah, Thank you ALLAH, with His helps and blessings, I manage to fully bf her (no formula milk at all! clap2 to mama n zahraa!) until she's TWO..

Forgive & Forget ( with contents )

When I read mak ura's entry on this topic, I felt like 'oh, baiknya mak ura..' (hehe.. peace eh mak ura.. =p) coz despite of the famous cliche, 'forgive and forget', I found that it is almost impossible to forget.. Then I started to google.. to find out that is it ok if I cant forget? n is it true that people can forgive but cannot forget? Then I found this :

"Forgiveness DOES NOT involve a LITERAL FORGETTING. Forgiveness involves remembering graciously. The forgiver remembers the true though painful parts, BUT without the embellishment of angry adjectives and adverbs that stir up contempt."

Then I felt relieved to know that it is ok.. I found that the quote above is so true! This is exactly how I feel.. Yes, I still can remember those things that hurt me from the past, but as the quote states, WITHOUT the embellishment of angry, provided that no one stir 'it' up la..
Then, I also found this:

"Forgiving is allowing another person to be human for faults, mistakes or misdeeds. 'Forgetting' is putting these behind you; they are no longer brought up and no longer remain a barrier to your relationship."

So it means that the 'forget' term in the cliche is not totally like I dont remember a thing on this matter, but it's like the above quote said, putting that matter behind you, they are no longer brought up and no longer remain a barrier to your relationship.. Oh, that means, I also can forgive and 'forget' lah.. YEAYY!! hehehe...

Btw, the article also addresses the practice of gratitude in order to encourage forgiveness..

This is what I always do. As we as a muslim always say, look at the bright side, there's always be a 'hikmah' for every sorrow, behind the sobs and tears..

Another thing from the article that I found interesting is the two types of forgiveness mentioned in the article. They divided forgiveness into two types; decisional forgiveness and emotional forgiveness.

Decisional forgiveness involves choosing to let go of angry thoughts about the person you feel has wronged you. The ultimate goal, however, is emotional forgiveness, in which negative emotions such as resentment, bitterness, hostility, hatred, anger, and fear are replaced with love, compassion, sympathy, and empathy.

To help people achieve emotional forgiveness, they have devised a 5-step program called REACH, with each letter representing one step.

R - recall the hurt objectively, without blame and self-victimization

E - empathize by trying to imagine the viewpoint of the person who wronged you

A - altruistic part involves getting people to think about a time they were forgiven and how that felt

C - When it's time to commit to forgiveness, people usually say, not yet..

H - but when they finally do, they must then hold on to forgiveness.

As I had mentioned in my previous entry before,

"the suffering for MOST of the problems derives in the human heart. Every act of hatred and jealousy and every injustice to the self or others emanates from the hearts of the people.. Therefore, I always believe that in order to right the 'things', we must first rectify our hearts.. "

and in order to have a very pure heart, we must always forgive others.. For me, if we can't forgive, that means our heart is still impure.. And, if you notice, when you dont forgive someone, it can "eat you up". It is so not healthy to keep resentment bottled up inside of you..

By holding on to hate and blame for the people who we think has wronged us, may make we feel like we are the victim, the keepers of justice, but all we are really doing is 'stoking the coals of a dangerous fire burning within us.' A fire that quickly destroys any love or humanity we may have left. While justice and the law should prevail when someone commits a criminal act, the human heart still needs to heal when an infliction is made. Believe me, fire won't heal it--love and forgiveness will...

Always think that, I have also made a mistake before.. Of course you have, she has, he has, they have. We all have! So, who are we not to forgive others as we also seek forgiveness from ALLAH, and other people for mistakes that we have done? Also, whenever we felt so hurt by that 'mistake' by others, always think that IT IS NOT just us who was affected by the 'mistake.' If you think you were the only one affected by the 'mistake', you are so wrong, dear..

Each experience we have in life is a lesson, a tarbiyyah from ALLAH.. especially those that are the most damaging to us. We can't predict or know what someone else's lessons in life are, and therefore, we CAN'T JUDGE them for what they might do--even if they hurt us. Once we forgive ourselves and others, we can let go of the pain and the past. Then, we can be a better person..
